When I was approved for this ARC, I read Steel (Bracken Ridge Rebels M.C. #1) first to get an understanding of the motorcycle club and the world I was about to enter. I plan to do a review later this week for Steel. I hopped over to Rubble after Steel and this book honestly blew me away! I absolutely loved it and thought that Mackenzy did a great job of telling Lucy and Rubble's story from the past and present day.

Lucy and Rubble are absolutely perfect for each other in every way. From the moment they met, you could see sparks fly and just knew this couple was going to be a fun one to read about. They had great banter in the club and it continued as their relationship developed in the first half of the book. When you see them in present day, you can still see that their connection is strong and they're even closer than they were before. My favorite thing about them as a pairing is that they faced all of their issues together. They relied on one another for strength and trusted that they could do it together. I was in love with them the whole time.

Lucy is the best heroine. She had me laughing out loud and multiple times I was saying, "That's my girl!" to something Lucy was saying. She really was so fun, fierce, confident, and knew what she wanted. Lucy doesn't let anyone tell her what to do, especially Rubble, and I loved it. She annoyed the hell out of Steel, which I loved seeing, but you could tell he loves her like a sister. I enjoyed that Lucy didn't put aside what she believed in for Rubble. She had some firm beliefs on some of his habits and set boundaries with him. He either needed to make changes or she was going to have to walk away. We love a boundary setting queen.

Rubble, my M.C. king 😍 I absolutely love this man. He might actually be the best partner. He owned up to his mistakes and made actual changes when Lucy set boundaries. He cared that his partner wasn't happy and wanted to be a better person for her. Rubble was absolutely head over heels in love with Lucy, which I loved. When men fall first, it's the best, and boy does Rubble fall. He doesn't hide his love for Lucy and he could care less if his brothers tease him for it. I'm not a mom, but this man had me melting when he affirmed that being a mom is hard and he has an easy job as dad. I wrote some really unhinged reactions to this as a note in my ARC (it's on my Instagram if you want to see), so I can only imagine how actual moms will feel. This man is just amazing and I died a little when he said "Lucy is my world."

Lucy and Rubble are so hot together. From the minute they met, you could feel their chemistry. There's a mirror scene in this book that just so very delicious πŸ₯΅ I also really enjoyed the facetime scene. If you read it, then you know what I mean. These two couldn't keep their hands off of each other and I LOVED it.

Mackenzy, if you're reading this, please can we get a Cash/Deanna book? An age gap MC romance is something I need in my life. Just the idea of the prez of the New Orleans chapter, who is best friends with the Bracken Ridge prez, falling for his best friend's daughter has me absolutely unhinged. Hutch won't like it, but I will 😏 Also, I can't say exactly why, but I think Nitro and Summer would be a great pairing. Oh, and a second chance romance with Smokey and Jamie?? Yeah, I'm going to need that too, please!

I'm going back to read books two through four (I'm so excited for Gunner's book), so this blog is about to become a Mackenzy Fox fan blog. Thank you to Mackenzy and Peachy Keen Author Services for the ARC!

Bracken Ridge, Arizona, where the Rebels M.C. rule and the only thing they ride or die for more than their club is their women, this is Rubble's story.

Rubble:

When I first laid eyes on her I thought she was an angel.

One I shouldn't try and corrupt. One I should leave well alone.

But I'd never been very good at staying away from thing that I shouldn't, it only made me want her more.

I pursued her. Taking her. Making her my ol' lady and we left my violent past behind.

Or so I thought.

Old threats I thought were long forgotten come back to haunt me and endanger everything I hold dear.

Protecting the ones I love isn't a threat, it's a promise, and one I'm willing to die for.

Lucy:

I knew he was the one the first time our eyes met that night from across the club.

He was everything that I shouldn't be attracted to.

Rugged. Dangerous. Mysterious. Those three things spelled trouble.

Worst of all; he belonged to a notorious motorcycle gang the Phoenix Fury, one I shouldn't get involved in, but I did. And we fell in love.

But like all fairy tales, there's always a villain, someone who wants to take the things most previous to you away.

It seems our fight is just beginning and there's nowhere left to run.

I'll stand by him. I'll always be his woman until the bitter end, until I take my last breath.

Note: This book is book 5 in a series, but is written as a stand-alone with no cliffhanger and a HEA. Recommended for mature readers only. Bracken Ridge Rebels rule...enter at own risk!
