This book is one of my favorites from 2021, which surprised me because I despised Macalister so much. I found myself feeling for him and really rooted for him. Sophia and Macalister are truly a perfect match and I loved everything about them together. Not only are they hot together, but they have similar business minds and challenge each other in great ways. They make total sense as a couple and I want more of them.
I think the true gem of this story is Sophia. I LOVE her. She is the perfect heroine and was so so so good in this story. She stood her ground with Macalister where it mattered and stood up for herself. I didn't think I would like her because I assumed I knew what she would be like, but I was so wrong. She's smart, charming, creative, and just wonderful.
This book is HOT. Nikki brought the spice and I loved every part of it. Chapters 9-11 were just ๐ฅต๐ฅต๐ฅต I think my favorite scenes might be the desk scene and the dining room table scene. Honestly all of spice scenes were ๐๐ข๐ข๐๐๐ช๐ก๐๐ฉ๐. Nikki is a spice queen in this book. Age gap stories are some of my absolute favorites, so that added to the spiciness for me. Add in office romance and it's just the perfect story.
There are soooo many quotes I wanted to share, but they're simply not safe to post ๐ You'll have to read the book to see what I mean (Macalister is spicyyyy), but I'll leave you with the quote below:

Description:

Scandal nearly destroyed me, but the one thing larger than my infamy is my bank account, and I’ve learned money can solve anything.
Well—almost anything.
Sophia Alby’s preferred currency is secrets and the way she trades information puts Wall Street to shame.
This girl charges into my life and claims a partnership can restore my reputation. My downfall was swift, but with her, my climb to redemption will be greater.
Our arrangement is professional. Appropriate. It has to be, because she’s half my age. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting . . .
To move on. To control and indulge in her. To hear the name Macalister Hale echo in her breathy moans.
But I can’t. Giving in to temptation led to my undoing before, and I won’t survive it a second time.
