I did some spot reading to find a quote and ended up basically doing a reread. I still love this book and had all the feels when I got to the end.

The Deception is the final book of Royce and Marist's story. Book 4 and 5 are about Royce's father and brother. In my opinion, this was a perfect end to their story and a great beginning for Macalister's story. Outside of that, I personally enjoyed Marist's development over the three books. The ending showcased her growth while also incorporating the parts of her that hadn't changed (her love for mythology, green hair, etc). She really found her voice and truly outsmarted someone well regarded by others. I love watching women outsmart men that underestimated them 😌

Royce and Marist are hot, hot, hot together. The spice in this book is great and some of the scenes had me feeling things. The dress shirt/tie scene AND Aspen πŸ‘€πŸ₯΅ (If you want even more spice, Nikki's Blindfold Club series has π™žπ™’π™’π™–π™˜π™ͺπ™‘π™–π™©π™š spice).

I cannot recommend this series enough. It's a great series, and I think Nikki really flexes her storytelling and writing ability even more as the series continues on.

I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.

Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his.

It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they want.

But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.

THE DECEPTION is the third and final book in the twisted Filthy Rich Americans trilogy. It should be read after THE INITIATION and THE OBSESSION.
