Mia Bianchi's life is hell. Her mom and family can't stand her, her father died, and her stepfather, Lazzaro "Laz" Rosetti, loves to mess with her. Laz was wild and out of control, so his brothers forced him to marry Mia's mom. Laz has no desire to be with her and wants Mia. He annoys her to no end, but something in her is pulled to him and they can't help but fall together. In order to get his inheritance and start the life he wants, Laz has to start a family, which he plans to do, just not with his wife.

If you're looking for a spicy forbidden romance with some taboo elements, you'll enjoy this book. I loved Laz and Mia separately, but also as a couple. They truly are the outcasts of their family that come together perfectly. I love that Mia is strong, sarcastic, and holds her own with Laz. She gets so annoyed with him, but can't help but fall for his charm. Laz genuinely made me laugh. He's a mess and unhinged, but God that made me love him. I absolutely love how obsessed he is with Mia. She could be a killer (honestly he'd probably love that) and he would only see her as an angel. The man is truly obsessed and would worship her for eternity. Love that for Mia.

I enjoyed this book, but I struggled with one of the triggers. I think the "birth control is merely a suggestion" warning should've been more clear. He sabotage's her birth control, which I think should've been explicitly stated. I interpreted the warning differently given that it's more vague, so I ended up being triggered, which surprised me since I rarely am. Also, I felt like there was some things left without answers. What happened to her uncles? What about her sister? Does Mia talk to her mom? It was a weird ending that seemed a bit rushed.
