Saffron Abbot is part of the Rogues, a top secret organization with highly trained operatives, and she's one of the best. One night, she's sneaking out and runs into someone she never thought she'd see again: Lachlan King. They had a hot and steamy night three months ago, one that she hasn't forgotten about. Saffron expects him to ask why she left in the middle of the night, but he doesn't. Why? Because Lachlan doesn't remember that night or meeting Saffron at all.

Saffron learns that Lachlan is one of the new recruits and she's assigned to train him. She has to pretend they've never met, which becomes challenging as Lachlan starts to ask questions. To make it worse, they have to pretend to be a newly married couple while on a mission and things quickly go from fake to real.

I enjoyed this story! It gave me similar vibes to the The Kingsman movie series, which I enjoy, but with more romance.

Saffron is a great heroine. She's strong, confident, holds her own, and is an all around badass. I appreciated that she wasn't willing to let people in her life hold her back and continuously fought for what she wanted. Lachlan King had me melting with some of his dirty talk. The way he kept asking "Who's 😺 is it?" and then fully addressed Saffron's needs was everything to me. He was very focused on pleasing Saffron in all ways πŸ₯΅

I did enjoy this read, but it felt a bit too long. The story dragged on and I got bored towards the end. I'm also not sure I totally bought into the romance. I liked them immensely as characters, but I didn't always feel their connection (outside of the spicy scenes). It may have just been a me thing.

I'm assuming Gabe and Tabatha are going to be a future book. I simply can't wait to watch Tabatha infuriate Gabe and for him to fall hard for her πŸ₯°

What’s worse than a gorgeous one-night stand who doesn’t remember you? Having to pretend to be his wife. For work.

The Rogues Division is a top-secret, highly-classified, “I’d tell you but I’d have to kill you” kind of organization. The kind of organization the government pretends not to love having at its disposal.

And we just got our newest recruit…Lachlan King, the sexy billionaire playboy who seduced me into one night of wild, soul-shattering, sex.

When I slipped out of his bed three months ago, I never expected to see him again. My future is set. I’m going to be a Rogues field agent. And field agents don’t date. Not to mention it’s forbidden to date each other. I’m relieved when he also pretends not to know me, so we can avoid any office awkwardness--until I realize he isn’t pretending.

Even worse luck, I’m assigned to play his lover in the field.

Okay, okay, deep breath. This mission will be easy. All I need to do is pretend to be madly in love with him and make sure neither of us die. Oh and remember this isn’t real. I’ve got to remember that. I cannot let this playboy seduce me again no matter what my belly does when he looks at me like I’m his.

Lachlan “the King,” however, has thrown himself into our undercover assignment a little too whole heartedly. He’s hell bent and determined on being as convincing as possible.

But there’s no way I’m letting him fake-husband me back into bed. I won’t fall for him this time. I won’t. Will I?
