*Check triggers before reading*

When I read Steel, it had been about eight months since I last read a motorcycle club (MC) book. This was a great jump back into that world. Steel introduces us to the Bracken Ridge Rebels MC and the many different characters that are part of this club. The Rebels are different because they are not a one percenter club, meaning they generate their income and do everything, well most things, through legal means. I feel like these types of clubs are rare in the MC trope, which is something I liked about this book.

I love Sienna. She calls out the clubs misogyny and holds her own. She is sassy and not afraid to say what's on her mind. She is smart, funny, beautiful, and strong. I enjoyed watching her open up and trust Steel. She did break my heart at one point, but I was happy to see her realize her mistake and lean on her support system. I love how she could bring Steel to his knees in the best way 😏

I'm was undecided on Steel while reading this book. On one hand, I liked how he rescues dogs, takes care of his club, cares about his sister, and the way he loves and supports Sienna. On the other hand, he could be so misogynistic that it was a major turn off. I know misogyny is part of the MC trope (or can be), but sometimes it was too much or done in a way that didn't work. I will say the way he handled their conflict was amazing. He didn't yell at her or make her feel bad about what happened, but told her she has to communicate with him in the future. That, plus him checking in multiple times during spicy time, ultimately made me like him.

I enjoyed this book, but it was a bit of a slow burn in the beginning, so that is why this wasn't a five star read for me. The last 40% hooked me and got me excited for the rest of the series. I read Rubble right after this because I received an ARC, so I have Gunner, Brock, and Colt's stories to read. They all sound amazing, but I'm pretty sure Gunner is going to be my favorite because I was dying over him in this book.

Bracken Ridge, Arizona, where the Rebels M.C. rule and the only thing they ride or die for more than their club is their women. This is Steel's story...

Steel

I'm not meaning to get involved, really it's not my fault. I'm the Sergeant at Arms of Bracken Ridge Rebels M.C. and it's my job to look out for the club, ensure ongoing safety and above all else refrain from violence, where absolutely necessary. I don't do anything by halves.

That's before Sienna Morgan waltzed into town acting like she owns the place, and now she does, well the clubhouse at least. One minute I'm sent to extract an offer to give us back what's rightfully ours, the next she's on the back of my sled and I'm about to lose my mind.

I don't do romance and I'm not looking for an ol' lady, but that's all about to change.

I don't mean to make her mine, but then again, rules are meant to be broken and I'm on the right side of wrong.

Sienna

He's bad. He's mean. He's kind of hot in a 'don't mess with me' kind of way. But I'm no fool, I know this town's run by bikers and I have something they want, something they need. I just never thought it would come to this and I'd be in the middle of  mess I may not be able to get out of.

The more I try to run the closer he gets. I don't know if I can keep resisting but my own haunted past lurks in the shadows, ready to pounce if I let it. I fear Steel may become an addiction but I can't let that happen, I can't let him get too close because if I do, he may just break me in half for good.

Note: This book is book 1 in a series but is written as a standalone with no cliffhanger and a HEA. Recommended for mature readers only. Bracken Ridge Rebels rule...enter at your own risk!
