Vienna is a total bad ass. She's smart, quick on her feet, driven by a purpose, and caring. I honestly thought she was the villain when I first started reading, but once I realized what was going on, I was on her side 100%. Her intelligence is truly amazing and my favorite thing about her. I love how Heather and Blake wrote her character.
The men were an interesting part for me. In the beginning, I was annoyed at how love sick Rick was because it was so fast. But then, we got to see more of him than just his obsession with Vienna and I ended up loving him. I adore him with Vienna and the way he cares for her. Fletcher I loved from the beginning. He just gives off fun vibes and I liked him. His interactions with Rick were fun. I'm curious to see how Cash will work in the dynamic as we get further into the series.
The reason this wasn't a five star read for me is because the pacing was a little slow in the beginning. Once it picked up, I was locked in to the story. This wasn't as spicy as I would've liked, but there are going to be three more books, so I'm okay with less spice in the beginning.
This book does end on a cliffhanger, but the great news is book two is out now!

Memo
Honor my father.
There are four types of serial killers.
Hedonistic.
Power/control.
Mission-oriented.
Mission-oriented.
Visionary.
Not all serial killers are caught. At any given point, there could be as many as fifty serial killers active at a time.
Fifty.
I’m looking for one.
He’s male, likely in his forties or fifties now. He’s been killing successfully for more than three decades. I suspect even longer, though our timeline is based only on the earliest victim we’ve identified with his signature mark.
Seventy-nine kills that we are certain of.
A year ago, the unsub’s methods changed. It was a subtle shift. Instead of one or two bodies a year, five have been dropped. Forensic evidence remains inconclusive, but in my gut, I know something’s changed.
Either the unsub has a partner or he’s about to become a spree killer.
It’s only a matter of time before someone puts the coin into the right slot and the kill song begins.

Finding the unsub is my obsession. It was my father’s. He died without solving the mystery.
I won’t.
