I. Love. This. Book. I am 100% obsessed with everything about this book. The story was good, I love the couple, and even the slow burn was deliciously wonderful, which says a lot because that is not one of my favorite tropes. I wish I could share my notes that I took while reading this book (they're full of spoilers) because I was living for every moment of this story.

Jada and Donovan are perfection together. Their banter was I M M A C U L A T E. I could not get over how good it was. Something I enjoyed was that their banter continued throughout the story and was perfectly balanced. I felt their connection from the moment they met. They are strong individuals, but even stronger together, which I loved.

Jada stole my heart in this story. I felt connected to her impulsiveness (I'm an Aries so I understand), yet I can be indecisive at the same time. Jada had similar qualities and I loved watching her growth. I also connected to her parental dynamic. The pressures from parents and wanting to make them proud are real. Jada had me cheering her on the entire time. Her growth is wonderful and I loved watching her find her passion. She was a great support to Donovan throughout the story, defending him when necessary, and helping him grow, too. She showed him how to be a little impulsive in his own way, which I adored.

Donovan Dell is the perfect man. He is the best example of men written by women being far superior to men in real life. The emotional intelligence he showed throughout the story had me swooning. He is the kind of partner women dream of having in real life. He was smart, supportive, emotionally available (love to see it), owned up to any mistakes, and was full of mistakes. I adored that a pro football player had a passion for baking. And baby Donovan helping his mom made me cry. The way he loved and supported Jada was the definition of being a wonderful partner. I love this man.

Another thing I loved about this story was the side characters. Donovan's two best friends, and teammates, Nicholas and August, were wonderful. Nicholas had me laughing so many times and I am obsessed with him. He was my favorite of all of the side characters. I hope we get his story because I have a feeling it'll having me cracking up in the best way. I NEED a second chance romance with August and Sloane. The ending has me wondering if he's next, so I hope Sloane is his love interest!

I couldn't recommend this book enough and hope everyone reads it! Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the amazing Jamie Wesley for providing me with an ARC.

A reality star and a cupcake-baking football player pretend to be a couple in order to save his bakery in this sweet and sexy romance…

Donovan Dell is a football player who likes to bake. Understanding that football won’t last forever, Donovan and two of his teammates opened Sugar Blitz, San Diego’s newest cupcake bakery. But with business not exactly booming, Donovan knows they need to get more people coming into the store. After a heated exchange with a customer who says the store’s dΓ©cor is stale, he doesn't expect the same bold woman to be the solution to his problem.

Jada Townsend-Matthews is the most reviled woman in America after turning down a proposal on a reality dating show. She comes home to San Diego to lick her wounds and figure out her next move. She never thought she'd end up working at Sugar Blitz alongside the serious, uptight Donovan.

When a reporter mistakenly believes Jada and Donovan are an item, they realize they can use the misunderstanding to their advantage to help the bakery and rehabilitate Jada's image. Faking a relationship should be simple, but real feelings are always the most unexpected ingredient.

Fake it Till You Bake It is a sweet confection of a novel, the perfect story to curl up with and enjoy with a cupcake on the side.
